5 Ways To Adapt Your Instagram Strategy For Reels
REELS! The big, overwhelming mini-video content that plagues all photographers who would rather hide behind their cameras. I get it -- I have no desire to be the one in front of the camera. Curious how that happens, right?
But look, if we want to stay relevant with the algorithm, then we all have to make changes. There are a bunch of different ways you can incorporate reels into your workflow and never set foot in front of the camera.
Here are five ways you maximize your reels:
Introduce yourself with a voice over your content and show the progress you’ve made since your first photos. Keep it light hearted and use trending music!
Show your work flow - Some of my favorite reels are showing raw images versus the final product. It gives an insight for consumers (or potential customers) and it allows them to learn about your unique point of view.
Behind the scenes - Take short videos during your photoshoots of your set up, camera settings, location and more! People want to see what it means to book a session with you.
A Review of your Last Session - Tell the story of your last photoshoot with linking all the images into a reel. While many people introduce themselves in the beginning, you can get creative! I recommend using a short video from behind the scenes then leading into the photos.
What’s in Your Camera Bag - Okay, maybe this is a selfish suggestion, but am I the only one that loves to know what everyone is carrying around? I love the variety of lenses, bodies, etc that people use to achieve amazing work.
And that’s it! There are endless ways to engage with your audience, but reels are here to stay. Also, your website is your meat and potatoes. If you don’t have that set for conversions, you have a whole new place to begin!
